Welcome, I’m Richard Morgan, rector of the Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli, Pennsylvania. 

Earlier this year I spent two months walking two of the Camino de Santiago trails. The experience was quite literally life changing. It allowed me to process a whole pile of things, the grief of losing a daughter, and the whole of the business of the pandemic and the stress that brought on, and it gave me an opportunity to reconnect with God, and to engage in a spiritual process of pilgrimage which I think is utterly unique.

I was very grateful to be supported in that endeavor by the Anglican Pilgrim Centre in Santiago. And I completely and whole heartedly support their idea of setting up a permanent pilgrim centre to welcome Anglicans in particular or other denominations in Santiago. The Roman Catholic Church is fairly welcoming, but it still doesn’t want any of us taking communion if we don’t belong to it, and it would be lovely to have somewhere that Anglican pilgrims could spend some time decompressing and processing their thoughts as they arrive at the end of their pilgrimage in Santiago.
